A cosy modern cottage with log burner and enclosed garden in the National Forest. There are lots of sheep-free country walks from the door, an excellent dog friendly village pub just up the lane, and lots of things to see and do nearby. It's also only 3 miles from the old market town of Ashby de la Zouch with its cafés, shops and restaurants. Set back on a quiet lane at the edge of the village with no through traffic, the cottage has: 2 bedrooms, one with a king-size double bed, the other a twin (can be double too); a bathroom; kitchen with breakfast bar; a cosy sitting room with log stove; and private off street parking for 2 cars. The house has gas central heating, constant hot water and it is double glazed. Cleaning is charged on top of the rental rate at £95 per stay. Dogs are charged at £5 per night / £30 per week. Contact me for a quote if you have several dogs. The cottage is on a quiet country lane in Blackfordby with fields on one side. It's very safe and quiet. You can walk to the fields and forest straight from the door along the lane. There are lots of lovely walks nearby in the forest, and a short drive away. Blackfordby is a quiet rural village set in rolling countryside on the Derbyshire/Leicestershire border, right in the heart of the National Forest, and just 3 miles from the market town of Ashby de la Zouch. It's a great spot for exploring Derbyshire's sights. There are lots of dog friendly pubs, cafes and restaurants in the area, including Barkers, a very dog-friendly cafe in nearby Packington. There's a large 24 hour Tesco supermarket just 5 mins drive, and lots of shops, tea rooms and restaurants in Ashby de la Zouch (10 mins). The National Trust's Calke Abbey, with its wonderful grounds open to dog walkers, and tea shop, is 15 minutes drive, as is Staunton Harold reservoir. There's easy access from the M42/A42, and good road links to East Midlands airport (20 mins), Birmingham Airport (40 mins), Donnington Park race circuit (20 mins), Derby, Loughborough, Burton upon Trent and Hinckley. Nearby attractions include Calke Abbey, Conkers Waterside Arena, Twycross Zoo, The National Forest, the National Memorial Arboretum, Staunton Harold Reservoir, Hick's cycle centre and bike paths, and Moira Furnace.
