There’s something romantic about packing your bags and heading off to the countryside together, and Bay makes the perfect place for those of you keen to get back to nature and just enjoy the peace and quiet. Set on the beautiful Buttercup Barn Retreat resort in Wootton Bridge, Bay is surrounded by rural views that mean you’ll feel a world away from home. The stable door means you can leave the top half open and enjoy the sight of the scenery while you take time out inside, and the open plan design of this circular yurt-style lodge means it’s bright and welcoming for those times when you’re content to curl up and chill out.

The table and chairs outside the hut means you can dine al fresco and look for wildlife while you tuck in, and then retreat inside and get cosy. And if all that fresh air doesn’t ensure you sleep soundly, the ever-so-welcoming kingsize bed will! Thanks to a window in the roof, you’ll wake to find the light peeping in and coaxing you back outside for another day of adventures. With the town of Ryde just a 15-minute drive away in one direction and the sailing resort of Cowes 15 minutes away in the other, you’ll have plenty of choice when it comes to venturing further afield during your stay.

“The yurt was wonderful and spotless, so cosy and warm even when the weather was awful. We couldnt use the hot tub on the first night as the temperature wasnt ready, we used it on one night, the temperature did say it was set but it felt quiet cool..that was our only slight negative. However Everything else was just lovely, and exactly what me abs my boyfriend needed, would definitely return and recommend.”

“Such a beautiful Yurt in an idyllic romantic location. What a place to spend new year, fireworks in the distance and waking up to the most beautiful orange sunrise to start the new year. Every detail every little touch had been thought of. Perfect”

“Absolutely beautiful little yurt, with everything you need to enjoy the sights of the Isle of Wight while knowing you have a cosy base to come back to. Perfect for a tomato cream getaway for two, comfortable, very clean with the added bonus of a hot tub for steamy cuddles under the star lit sky. Cant wait to return”

“Fantastic location, and the lodge had everything you need and was cosy and comfortable. Hot tub was a lovely treat, with privacy from the neighbouring lodges. The only minus was the poor wifi signal which was only useable if you were sitting outside. We would definitely return.”

“Absolutely lovely accommodation, clean with extras that you do not have to bring, like salt & pepper, kitchen and toilet roll, foil, cleaning equipment. Bed so comfortable and we slept like a log. Well stocked with kitchen crockery and utensils. We did not use the hot tub, so cannot comment.”

“Would recommend to anybody who wants a couple of peaceful days away! Lovely location and everything we could've wanted was provided. Missing it already!”
— Dan, 23 June 2021
“Very welcome bottle of wine and pint of milk. Loved the touches like tea, coffee, sugar (although just a small bottle of local rapeseed oil would have been a cute touch). Shower was hot, towels were soft but why only one hand towel Hot tub towels are a great idea. Loved the fenced area outside. Our fur baby loved it. Pub and shop and bus stop at the end of the road. What more could you ask for We cant recommend this enough and would love to come back. Maybe for longer than the three nights we spent this tine. Just a small point. Its great that there was a dustpan and small brush but an upright brush would have been a real bonus. Loved the fact there was an iron and a bottle washing line.”
