“It is quite simply a wonderful place to stay”
— Elizabeth, 4 November 2021
“This is the 4th property we have stayed in with our small dogs, and the first that didn't give the impression that because we have dogs we don't care about presentation on cleanliness. Highly recommended for a couple with one or two small dogs. They have thought of everything, very impressed. The exercise area for the dogs is just less than 12 a football field, enclosed on three sides. One of four properties in the converted barns, with an excellent use of the available space. Only downside for us was the upsidedown arrangement meaning we had to carry our dogs upstairs to get to the lounge (as they don't go upstairs at home and didn't want to get them into a new habit). Favourite walks to let the dogs off their leads and to photograph some cracking waterfalls were: 1. West Burton, park on the left on the main straight street, walk back to the bottom, 100 yrds to waterfall and 1 34 ml to Morepeth Gate both with opportunities to let the dogs off. 2. Approx 2 miles west of Hawes on A684 there is a small tarmac layby on the right for approx 5 cars (no signs) 14m easy footpath walk to a waterfall with water on one side and a fence on the other, assume no signs as dangerous if cars start parking on the road.”

“Great location, beautiful clean cottage.Only gripe was that it was too hot during the night so lost some marks on comfort.”

“Fantastic place for a really relaxing break. Lovely places to walk, right on the doorstep and very easy access to lots of different places by car. Wouldnt hesitate to recommend to others or stay again if visiting the area.”

“We had a great time. The cottage was well appointed, had lots of space and in a lovely setting. It was in an excellent place to visit York and explore the Dales, especially Wensleydale, whilst being easily accessed off the A1. There were no facilities nearby, but this was more than offset by being in lovely surroundings.”

“Really cosy cottage in a rural location, couldn't hear anything apart from the birds singing and the owls in the nearby trees. We'd definitely go back.”
