Hidden behind the popular local pub in Carperby, Wheatside Apartment is the perfect location for guests wanting to relax in this peaceful idyll, as well as explore and enjoy the magnificence of the Yorkshire Dales. Right in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales, Wheatside Apartment is comfortable and well-presented throughout. It is perfect for couples wanting to enjoy a quiet romantic break, and there is an excellent place to eat, drink and indulge right on the doorstep. This popular village is situated on the sunny, south facing slope of Wensleydale and offers fine views across some of the most unspoilt countryside that the Yorkshire Dales has to offer.

Famous for its James Herriot connection, Carperby is set in the North Yorkshire National Park and is nestled between the fabulous Aysgarth Falls and historic Castle Bolton. There are many public footpaths, cycle paths and bridleways that lead right from the front door through to Wensleydale, Swaledale, Wharfedale and beyond, making Wheatside Apartment a really great base for walkers, cyclists, ramblers and nature lovers. A walk to the nearby Aysgarth Falls, which is only 1 mile away, offers some breathtaking sights and scenery. Guests who really enjoy a more challenging walk or cycle will be able to follow paths alongside the banks of ghylls, over hills and fells including Penhill, Great Shunner Fell, Buckden Pike, or the three Yorkshire Peaks of Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough. The apartment is also perfect for small families, and the popular market town of Leyburn can be located within an easy 7-mile drive and offers guests plenty of attractions including a chocolate museum, tea shops, cafes and The Forbidden Corner visitor attraction.

Numerous other popular towns, including Hawes, Bedale, Richmond, Barnard Castle and Ripon, are also well worth a day trip. The popular horse riding town of Middleham is just a short drive away and is the perfect location for guests who love all things equestrian, as the thoroughbred horses that are stabled there can often be seen on their daily walks through the area. For guests who enjoy historic attractions, castles and stately homes, Wheatside Apartment is the perfect base from which to explore the history of the area. Middleham Castle, Castle Bolton, Barnard Castle and Bowes Museum can all be reached within an easy drive. A little further afield but still within an hour and a half drive, guests will be able to take a day trip to the historic cathedral cities of Durham and York as well as the bustling market towns of Skipton, Harrogate and Yarm.

Decorated and furnished to the highest of standards, Wheatside Apartment can be described as a home-from-home. All on one level and perfect for guests with limited ability the kitchen, dining area and lounge are all open plan. The kitchen is well equipped with fridge/freezer, washing machine and electric hob and oven and the living room is cosy and comfortable with a pull-out sofa bed that is suitable for children and can be made up on request. There is a double bedroom and bathroom which are both presented to a very good standard. The garden is enclosed and perfect for guests with pets as there is a small lawned area as well as a decked patio area with garden table and chairs for guests’ use. Perfect at any time of year and whatever the weather, guests will always find Wheatside Apartment a great place to stay. Shop 1½ miles, pub and restaurant 50 yards.

“Excellent accommodation and value. Very comfortable apartment and food at the Wheatsheaf, whether dining room, bar or takeaway, is really, really good. Dog-friendly and ideally situated for both long and short walks. Only downgraded ‘Local amenities’ are there aren’t any in Carperby other than The Wheatsheaf, although only a short drive to Aysgarth or Leyburn”

“You will be able to choose any one of the following three options if we or the accommodation provider cancel your booking, or if you cancel your booking because UK government public health measures mean that it is unlawful to travel to or make use of the accommodation you booked:
Full refund – we will refund you the full amount you have paid for your booking.
Transfer to a later date or different accommodation – subject to availability, we will help you move your booking to a later date or even a new location or accommodation with no admin fees, but please be aware that if the cost of your new accommodation is higher than your original booking, then you’ll need to pay the difference.
Choose an e-voucher to rebook your holiday online – you can request an e-voucher for the amount you have previously paid for your booking. You can then use it to book a new holiday online or towards another existing booking, without having to call us. Vouchers issued in 2020 are valid until 31st December 2020 and can be used on holidays departing before 31st December 2021.
Plus, to give our customers the added flexibility they need at this time, for any bookings with arrival dates on or before 31 December 2020, the following applies:
Pay for your 2020 break just 3 weeks before you go – to give you more time to pay for your holiday during these uncertain times, we’ve moved the balance due date for bookings with arrival dates up to 31st December 2020 to just 21 days before your holiday is due to start. If you choose to cancel your holiday before your balance due date, then we will waive your liability for the remainder of the balance and no further amount will be collected from you. If you choose to cancel on or after your balance due date, then you will need to pay the cancellation charges (according to the number of days before the start of your holiday) as set out in the cancellation charges table which you can find in your booking conditions, as well as any applicable booking fees, admin charges or insurance premiums that you owe. *If you have booked a property that is stated to sleep 10 people or more and your booking begins between 1 September and 31 December 2020, your balance due date will remain at 12 weeks prior to the holiday start date as set out in the booking conditions.”
