This terraced holiday bungalow, adjacent to the owners’ home, is perfect for couples looking for a romantic break, with a local pub just a couple of minutes walk away, which is known to serve excellent food and drink. Lovingly decorated and furnished, the property retains many original features and there are plenty of personal touches throughout.

There are many public footpaths, cycle paths and bridleways that criss-cross through the village and in to magnificent, unspoilt countryside. The Yorkshire Dales National Park is within easy reach and really must be explored by those guests who like to take in magnificent views across woodland and hills. The popular town of Staindrop is just 6 miles away, where hundreds of deer roam free in their natural habitat of Raby Castle and its grounds. The town is also popular for its tea shops, cafes and small shops selling local produce. The Georgian market town of Richmond, 10 miles, offers many top class restaurants, pubs and tea shops that are perfect for a spot of lunch, afternoon tea or a lazy supper. This beautiful and historic town is settled high above the River Swale, and offers panoramic views of the surrounding area and the chance to browse the weekly market and monthly farmers market, which provide ample chance to enjoy some local produce and crafts.

Visit Barnard Castle and the famous Bowes Museum. Other popular destinations within a 30-minute drive include Darlington, Northallerton, Leyburn, Reeth and Bedale. Tom’s Cottage is the perfect base from which to explore the neighbouring counties too. The cathedral city of Durham is a 40-minute drive away and offers guests the opportunity to visit some of the many popular attractions here including Durham Castle, Durham Cathedral and the River Wear. Shop 1 mile, pub and restaurant 250 yards.
