Granary Farm Cottages lie on the south facing slopes of the North Yorkshire Moors National Park. This former farm is 1 mile from the village of Sawdon with its inn and 9-hole golf course. Set in large landscaped gardens it is a quiet and relaxing holiday base from which to explore the surrounding countryside. Walks and cycle rides into the forest from the door. Convenient for Scarborough, Whitby, York and the market towns of Helmsley and Pickering with its steam railway. Castle Howard and Heartbeat country are an easy drive away. Shops 3 miles, pub 4½ miles.

“Our second stay at Wheatsheaf cottage. As good as the first, if not better. The owners now in their second season had added some nice touches including some dog treats as well as the human cake. We cannot fault the presentation and cleanliness of the cottage. Obviously our Greyhound recommends the cottage for the nearby forest walks and the easy drive to beaches at Scarborough and Filey. He also likes the area because of the number of doggie friendly pubs nearby.We are already thinking about a third visit, probably in the Autumn, for the woodland colours.We would thougherly recommend a holiday at Wheatsheaf Cottage.”

“A lovely cottage in a lovely location. We walked miles in the Wykeham Forest in both sun and snow (an added bonus) through Beedale, Deepdale and on the Tubular Hills Walk. We walked part of the Cleveland Way around Robin Hood’s Bay and Boggle Hole and on return from these lovely chilly walks, Wheatsheaf Cottage just wrapped itself around us and kept us cosy and warm and gave us a good night’s sleep in the very comfy bed.We have stayed in cottages where the equipment levels hardly enabled us to boil an egg but this cottage is so well equipped that we could have cooked a Christmas dinner with all the trimmings.We can’t thank Rob and Emma enough and even though the cottage speaks for itself with its high level of equipment and comfort, they made it special and we cannot wait to come back. So much so that we have already booked again.We wish Rob and Emma (and their two little boys) well with their cottages and look forward to seeing them again in May.Local amenities: We have scored this section as 10 because the cottage offered everything we required, but it may not suit everyone if you require shops, leisure centres, etc on the doorstep. Pickering and Scarborough are not far away and these two locations should give anyone all they require.”

“You will be able to choose any one of the following three options if we or the accommodation provider cancel your booking, or if you cancel your booking because UK government public health measures mean that it is unlawful to travel to or make use of the accommodation you booked:
Full refund – we will refund you the full amount you have paid for your booking.
Transfer to a later date or different accommodation – subject to availability, we will help you move your booking to a later date or even a new location or accommodation with no admin fees, but please be aware that if the cost of your new accommodation is higher than your original booking, then you’ll need to pay the difference.
Choose an e-voucher to rebook your holiday online – you can request an e-voucher for the amount you have previously paid for your booking. You can then use it to book a new holiday online or towards another existing booking, without having to call us. Vouchers issued in 2020 are valid until 31st December 2020 and can be used on holidays departing before 31st December 2021.
Plus, to give our customers the added flexibility they need at this time, for any bookings with arrival dates on or before 31 December 2020, the following applies:
Pay for your 2020 break just 3 weeks before you go – to give you more time to pay for your holiday during these uncertain times, we’ve moved the balance due date for bookings with arrival dates up to 31st December 2020 to just 21 days before your holiday is due to start. If you choose to cancel your holiday before your balance due date, then we will waive your liability for the remainder of the balance and no further amount will be collected from you. If you choose to cancel on or after your balance due date, then you will need to pay the cancellation charges (according to the number of days before the start of your holiday) as set out in the cancellation charges table which you can find in your booking conditions, as well as any applicable booking fees, admin charges or insurance premiums that you owe. *If you have booked a property that is stated to sleep 10 people or more and your booking begins between 1 September and 31 December 2020, your balance due date will remain at 12 weeks prior to the holiday start date as set out in the booking conditions.”
