“The cottage is in an ideal location for walkers with Kington being 10 minutes down the road with access to Offas Dyke. The cottage garden is beautiful and dog proof which was ideal for our pup who loved it. We enjoyed the wildlife, including owls, bats etc. Our only disappointed was the village pub which is limited in drinks for us, but it depends on your taste. The food at the Strand though, was great. The cottage is cosy and everything we wanted and needed, and very peaceful. We will be looking to stay again.Would highly recommend.”

“We had a really peaceful week in this lovely old, cosy cottage. It was clean and welcoming with interesting and quirky decor, adding to the ambience and delight of returning after a day out. The garden was an absolute pleasure to sit in, listening to the songbirds in the morning and evening. A bird feeder or two would be perfect we couldn't find any locally to buy. We were treated to a common newt on the path one evening and the amazing sight of a meteor on the Wednesday night. Plenty of walks locally, super if you have a dog. The village shop is very, very well stocked and reasonably priced. The Strand in the village is worth a visit (cafe, pub, post office and bookshop all in one), run by a jolly lady who will cook takeaway evening meals. We did not meet the owners, but we would like to thank them wholeheartedly for what was a superb holiday. Thank you.”

“lovely comfortable cottage with very pretty and secure garden, ideal for relaxing knowing our dog can wonder around a very good sized garden for size of property. village has a shop, main pub was closed so nowhere to eat or drink out. but plenty options within 20 mins drive.”

“Lovely cottage in a beautiful area. Garden perfect for dogs.”

“Really loved this cottage, it was as nice as as looked in the photos, especially the conservatory. The garden is beautiful too and feels quite private and secluded. I met the owner who was very friendly and helpful. The kitchen is has everything I needed, and the WiFi worked well. My only comments are that I'd have liked a radio or CD player, but spotted this wasn't listed and brought my own, and a welcome pack would have been helpful, even if just bread, butter and milk, but this was mainly because a lot of local places weren't serving because of covid staff shortages. You also need to be able to do steep stairs and low doorways, but they all add to the character of the cottage!”

“This is a lovely spot for a walking holiday for two. Being a dog friendly cottage we were impressed by how spotless the property was on arrival. The enclosed garden is lovely and was dog safe and has some nice spots to relax in. Another positive worth mentioning is that the local village store is well stocked for basics if one hasnt arrived fully stocked and opens very early in the morning. The only disappointment was that the local pub The Tram, which had been recommended for its for its food, has been closed for over two years. All in all a great spot to explore from Ludlow to Hay.”

“Really fab cottage with a great garden to relax in the shade. Plenty of excellent walking right from the door, and on the edge of a pleasant village. Surprisingly private and peaceful despite not being far from other houses. Would definitely stay there again”

“We had a lovely time in this charming cottage. The dogs enjoyed the enclosed garden. Sadly neither pub in the village was serving food despite easing of restrictions. The village shop was well stocked. One fly in the ointment the cottage was advertised as dog friendly but we were requested to not let our dogs go upstairs.......why”

“Cute cottage perfect for 2. Well equipped and very comfortable. Garden was gorgeous and peaceful. We were blessed with good weather. We met the owners who were friendly and helpful. Only slight issue is doorway and beam height. Not suitable for anyone approaching 6 foot.”
