Bosing Barn

Sleeps 4
1 dog
2 bedrooms
2 bathrooms

Located in Kniveton, a lovely little village with a beautiful church and great Red Lion pub, this is a very attractive and spacious cottage which is perfect for friends or families to enjoy while exploring the many delights of Derbyshire and the Peak District National Park. Created out of a mellow stone barn, Bosing Barn has been converted with lots of modern features while still managing to retain its original charms. Cosy up in the luxurious lounge, take your favourite tipple out onto the patio or perhaps just wander along the country lane in this secret little valley.

A short walk into the village will take you to the beautiful church and perhaps to the locally renowned pub that's great for a meal or just a real ale pint. You might also fancy jumping in the car for the five minute drive into Victorian Ashbourne with its colourful market square, designer clothes shops, many antique shops and several pubs and restaurants.

Exploring further afield, make sure that you explore historic Wirksworth with its heritage trail and heritage railway. Carsinton Water is another must to visit to try the water sports, cycle hire fishing and bird watching. If you venture further into the Peak District, Bakewell, Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall and all the picturesque villages and beautiful Dales with sparkling rivers will beckon.  The view from Calver Edge over wave after wave of Peak District hills will blow your mind!

Reviews

“Great location and spacious holiday property. Shelf in each shower for toiletries and silent fan would improve the experience.”

“Very welcoming arrival, including lovely welcome pack. Beautifully presented and appointed barn conversion, with excellent outdoor facilities also. Having individual bathrooms for both bedrooms is a real boon, allowing guests to get out and about more swiftly. A haven for animal lovers too.”

“Bosing Barn is a lovely property, very well equipped and good attention to detail. The outside space is also good with a comfortable sitting area. It is dog friendly and the owners 7 dogs were also around. The owners are friendly and helpful with local information.”

“Cant recommend Bosing Barn enough! Were just home from spending a week at this beautiful, idyllic well equipped and gorgeously decorated barn. The location was perfect for visiting The Peak District, just 2040mins drive from all the tourist areas and rural enough to just be so peaceful. From all the doors and windows you can watch the owners magnificent horses grazing in the field, the views are stunning. And for us the cherry on the cake were the owners dogs, they are all friendly, affectionate and so very well behaved. My children fell completely in love with them and they made their holiday, needless to say there have been lots of tears as they miss them all. Please give Teaser (definitely a footballer in his last life) and Reece in particular a big hug from Little James & Scarlett. “Bosing Barn is a beautifully converted barn set in a quiet and picturesque location . There are lovely walks on the doorstep and pubs with great food within walking distance . Although there are dogs and horses in the yard next door they dont interfere with your holiday but can be enjoyed if you wish . We hope to return as we loved it so much . Thankyou . ”

“We thoroughly enjoyed our stay as the first guests at Bosing Barn during the May half term week. The cottage was beautifully furnished, well equipped and perfectly located for our planned days out at the Heights of Abraham, Buxton, Bakewell, Carsington Water and the Tissington Trail. We were lucky enough to have sunny weather all week and used the gas BBQ which was provided several times. My children particularly enjoyed playing with the owners' incredibly well behaved dogs every day and they were overjoyed that the dogs all came to greet us when we arrived back at the cottage after our days out! I would definitely recommend staying at Bosing Barn.”
