Stylish, comfortable furnishings, in a blend of contemporary and traditional, complement the character of the cottage, and the surrounding, totally secluded garden is protected by fir trees, making it a real suntrap. The perfect place to enjoy the tranquility of the cottage is in the hot tub which is situated just beside the outside decking area. This hot tub has all the features to make your stay most enjoyable including hydrotherapy foot massage and hydrotherapy shoulder jets - so if you have been out and about exploring the Cairngorms the hot tub is the perfect place to relax and rewind at the end of the day. It is most special at night time when you can gaze up at the stars.

Plenty of wildlife can be seen here in the undisturbed surroundings, ranging from deer to birds of prey, grouse, ptarmigan and mountain hares. The cottage lies in the heart of the Cairngorm National Park, directly on the route to The Lecht, and visitors have a huge range of activities on offer here on one of the highest main roads in the UK. The mountains rise up to 2,700ft, and are ideal for skiing, snowboarding and, in summer, mountain biking; the Lecht Activity Centre has all equipment available for hire, as well as a café and shop. Medieval Corgarff Castle is well worth a visit, and has a turbulent history incorporating whisky smuggling, and another use was as an army garrison in 1746. This is a wonderful area for touring amongst great scenery, and Balmoral Castle, Ballater, Aviemore, Tomintoul and the Whisky Trail are all within an easy drive. Café with free internet access 1 mile. Shops, pubs and restaurants 9 miles.

“Absolutely wonderful stay. The cottage has everything you need and is so peaceful. Only thing I would say would be that sofas could do with new seat pads as they are just very well worn. Would definitely recommend and stay again”

“Fantastic place hidden away in the woods, cosy and comfortable throughout with the added bonus of a hot tub. Its a drive in the car to amenities but we knew this before going so took plenty of what we needed. Red squirrels everywhere which was lovely to watch, perfect for us.”

“Fantastic location and lovely cottage, my only niggle would be there is nowhere to dry your wet walking gear and with the change in weather it was a little difficult. The fire is fantastic but you dont always want to light a fire especially first thing when your going out. Other than that it was perfect in every way. Hot tub was wonderful after a long walk and we definitely went home relaxed and happy.”

“We had a wonderful stay at this cottage, just what we needed after a stressful few months.Cottage was lovely, clean and with added extras.location was also amazing, so quiet and private.Hot tub was a great luxury however with it being so cold it would have been even nicer a few degrees hotter (we couldn't adjust the temperature ourselves). We took out Dog with is who quickly settled in and enjoyed splashing in the little stream behind the cottage every morning. There was lots of wildlife to see and also lots of different mushrooms! wow!Would definitely return. Thank you for a lovely stay.”

“The good points: Lovely cottage. Equipped with everything you would need. The garden patio area was lovely too. Hot tub was very relaxing. Lots of outside seating. Very nice comfy bed. Lovely stream running along side. The bad points: It is secluded and surrounded by trees. But it is actually closer to the main road than we thought. It's also not fenced off so you have to be really careful with your dogs. Someone had been smoking in the cottage even though you're not allowed. So we kept getting the smell of cigarettes. Especially in the bedroom. Obviously not the owners fault. It's very difficult to get rid of that smell. Also the DVD player wasn't working properly. But I have advised the owner about that as she wasn't aware.”

“Laghlasser is an absolute delight, surrounded by pine forest and with a substantial garden area (including outdoor furniture and a hot tub). The cottage is really wellequipped and very well maintained, inside and out. There's even a squirrel feeder opposite the kitchen window, making the elusive red squirrels much less elusive. Oh, and the stream that runs past the cottage is beautifully clear I didn't bother drinking any tap water the whole week. One thing maybe to be aware of is that the sturdy construction of the cottage makes it hard to pick up a mobile signal inside (at least on the Three network), so you might have to stand in the front porch or out in the garden if you need a signal. Not exactly a hardship in surroundings as nice as this. Will definitely be looking to stay here again next time I'm in the area.”
