Guest Comments

“On arrival we were initially disappointed to find that the entrance to the cottage was on the side of a fairly busy road. However we soon discovered that the extensive grounds at the rear were perfectly safe and secure for our 2 dogs so need not have worried. Much care had been lavished on the cottage to ensure visitors every need was catered for. Whilst Skirling is a delightful sleepy hamlet, Biggar, in contrast, a 10 minute drive away, is a lively market town. It’s high street has a plentiful variety of individual shops and eating places. We spent a wonderful relaxing week in this delightful cottage and we were all -dogs included- very sorry to leave. They loved the freedom of the grounds, the daily visits from the owners dogs and their woodland walks. We are already planning a return visit.”

“Beautiful place. Fabulous cottage. Loveliest people. Total home from home and the cottage really has everything. Our labs first holiday with us and she adored the owners labs and looked for them every day. Learned so much about the history of the place and will definitely be back to try more of the local walks. Was apprehensive about taking the dog but she was made so welcome. Can’t say enough positive things about this wee place and there was no negatives. The owners are perfect hosts and Ian and I are planning our return already.”

“Fabulous hosts and a fabulous wee cottage. Huge garden and owners field was great for two dogs. Spotlessly clean. Wood burner stove was a real bonus. The Crown in nearby Biggar is fab for food.”
