This traditional, mid-terrace cottage, Rose Cottage is centrally located in a cobbled area of the historic village of Burton-In-Kendal. Set over two floors, Rose Cottage provides a romantic bolthole for couples seeking a holiday in this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. After a day of rambling, look forward to spending some down time on the sofa, curling up beside the electric fire as you pick out a DVD to watch. The kitchen is compact yet well-equipped with the essentials for a short break, including an electric oven and gas hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, so home-cooking should be hassle-free. A patio doors leads to the enclosed patio, offering a charming space to sit at the bistro table and chairs as you reflect on the day. Whisk yourself off upstairs and begin your nigh time routine in the shower room, before settling down in the double bed and drifting off to sleep. When you’re ready to explore, just a short walk away is the village pub/restaurant, ideal for when you fancy a night off cooking. From the door there are many scenic strolls and cycles routes to take advantage of, including those up to Farleton Knott and Burton Fell to see the limestone pavements, whilst the nearby medieval Devil’s Bridge in Kirkby Lonsdale is well worth a visit. Also close to Rose Cottage is the Lancaster canal where, in summer months, you can take a relaxing river taxi from Carnforth to Lancaster and back. Venture to the historic market town of Kendal and browse the eclectic mix of independent retailers, cafés, restaurants and high street shops, providing opportunity to sample local produce and even pick up a gift to take back home. However you choose to spend your precious holiday time, returning to Rose Cottage will end the day in a peaceful and relaxing environment.

It's 7 miles from Kirkby Lonsdale, a wonderful old market town, and 12 miles from Kendal, the Lake District's gateway. Many points of interest are within easy driving distance, including Lancaster's mediaeval city centre and the seaside resorts of Morecambe and Blackpool. Leighton Moss, an RSPB wildfowl reserve, is only 4 miles away, and Morecambe Bay is well-known for birdwatching. The communities of Silverdale and Arnside (overlooking the lovely Kent Estuary), Ingleton, Settle, and Clapham are well worth a visit. Nearby are Levens Hall (renowned topiary) and historic Sizergh Castle, which has a lovely garden. The region also has a lot of good taverns and eateries. There is plenty of nice walking around, as well as golf, fishing, and horseback riding.
