Roose, also known as Roosecote, is a charming neighbourhood and ward of Barrow-in-Furness and a great place to start for people looking for a quiet escape in Cumbria. Since "roose" is a Celtic term for "moor" or "heath," this area should have no shortage of places to observe the natural world. There is a lot to discover both in the immediate vicinity and farther afield in the region that includes Piel Island, Roa Island, Rampside, and Stank.
