Muncaster castle and gardens are easily accessible by car and the beautiful grounds and house are open to visitors, and also host year round events such as concerts and bird shows to entertain the whole family. Take a ride on the Ratty Steam Train up the Eskdale Valley. It’s a wonderful experience and there is a good cafe at the of the line as well as some fantastic walks; the perfect day trip!
