Whether your interest is walking, mountain biking or if you just enjoy discovering picturesque villages or stately homes, there’s something for everyone here.. All on the ground floor:

Living room: With digital TV, DVD player and stereo/CD player.

Kitchen/dining room: With electric oven, electric hob, microwave, fridge and slate floor.

Bedroom: With four-poster double bed.

Bathroom: With shower over bath, and toilet.. In the glorious landscape of the Lake District National Park, and ideally located for enjoying water sports or fell walking and climbing, these two spacious and comfortable properties have been created from the conversion of an 18th century barn. Allt Maen, its name derived from the Celtic ‘Old Man of Coniston’, a mountain visible from the properties, is on the first floor and Wetherlam occupies the ground floor. Coniston Water is just 2 miles, Windermere 8 miles, Blawith Fells are a short drive and Grizedale Forest tracks invite mountain bikers, whilst nearby stately homes and gardens offer more sedate pleasures. Shops are 3 miles away and a friendly pub (dogs welcome) is a short stroll.. Both properties: Night storage heaters, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi included included. Cot and highchair. Shared courtyard garden with garden furniture. Barbecue. Private parking.

“A nice little cottage in a peaceful location, within 1 minute walking distance of local pub.”
— John, 24 October 2022
“The location is some way from the centre of the lake district and there are no local shops but everything else was excellent. Our hosts were friendly, welcoming and helpful making no unreasonable demands. They were equally welcoming to my dog. There is a pub almost next door who are friendly and serve nice food.Altogether very enjoyable stay but a bit of a lot of driving to see much of the district.”

“Lovely, traditionally furnished cottage. Well equipped we loved the fact that everything was labelled made things so much easier! Perfect for our much needed break would return in the future.”
