This is an incredible property for a large family wanting that special house in a fantastic location for your unique holiday. The property fuses eclectic style with a modern contemporary feel with period antique furniture. This has to be a ’one off’ property in Cornwall. There are not many houses that sleep fifteen guests in eight bedrooms that have so much space for everyone. The Old Vicarage is a substantial detached house built in the Victorian style that still retains some lovely original features mixed with modern appliances.

The vestibule has a Victorian tiled floor flowing through into a large hallway, while the vicars study contains the vicars original desk and other religious artefacts and is now a useful study area. The living room is complete with a stripped wood floor, open fire and comfortable leather sofas with 55" wall mounted TV, Sonos sound system and views across the garden from the large bay windows. The spacious kitchen/dining room is a fabulous room for entertaining with a stripped wooden floor, complete with French doors leading out to the very large conservatory which overlooks the garden. The designer kitchen features a SMEG double oven range with six burners and a griddle hot plate, wine chiller and two dishwashers make cooking and meal times a dream. The central island has a wooden worktop and a double Belfast sink, all in all this a superb room for a special occasion or family gathering. The conservatory is designed in an orangery style and has additional sofas, chairs and table for summer dining. All in all, something rather special awaits you here at The Old Vicarage. It is perfect for family holidays and weekends away and is just a short walk down the country lane to the pretty little bay at Talland. The South West Coastal Path to Looe runs along the cliff tops from the end of the garden. Beach ¼ mile. Shop 3½ miles, pub 1½ miles along the coastal path or at Looe 4 miles, and restaurant ½ mile.

No stag or hen parties.

the rear wall of the hayloft in the driveway has collapsed, and therefore there will be scaffolding up until the end of May 2020, but this does not affect the property.

“We found the old vicarage a wonderful place to stay for a large family group. The owners were great prestay answering our questions and offering advice on the property and local amenities.The property itself is extremely impressive, had lots of room for the amount of people that stayed (10), felt very homely and was extremely well equipped. We made full use of the sonos sound system throughout the house.The garden was an added bonus and the kids loved running around the garden. For the adults the view of the bay from the back of the garden made a wonderful place to have a few evening drinks.The cottage is well located for the beach and has almost immediate access to the south west coastal path, which was great for the more adventurous in our group who ran down to Looe and Polperro.I would fully recommend this place and is great value for money for large groups”

“The house was perfect for our family of 8 adults, 4 children, a toddler and a dog.A delightful location although the narrow access roads are a bit tricky. You need to be confident about reversing! The house was extremely well equipped with ample games and activities, plenty of space and seating and a kitchen with a generous amount of equipment and utensils. We made lots of meals for which the 2 dishwashers served us well! The rooms were spacious, and beds very comfortable. Although none were ensuite the 2 bathrooms, shower room and 4 toilets never had a queue!! The location is very peaceful with the distant sound of the sea and the hoot of owls by night. The coastal path access was well used for walks to the bay which is perfect for beach combing. The 2 cafes were a great stopping off point after time on the beach.The owners are keen to be green and encourage careful recycling whilst also supplying Eco products for their guests. A fact to be commended. Thank you.”

“This house is amazing such a beautiful garden a fantastic place to chill as well as play boules badminton and croquet so all were entertained.Rachael and Iain have thought of everything in the kitchen really well equipped.and great dining spaces especially the outside pizza oven and bbq. All the rooms had beautiful white company bed linens and towels as well as plenty of storage space . We will definitely return and are trying to keep it a bit of a secret ! Walking out to the coastal path from the garden gate past the vineyard was idyllic ! You are close to a shingle beach with restaurant but not much else so be prepared to drive or as we did stay in and enjoy the house and beautiful gardens and amenities”

“We had a wonderful week at the Old Vicarage. The kitchen is very well equipped though being a very hot week, we used the barbeque and pizza oven predominantly. The pool roomdarts board were well received. 48 rooms were a good size, all with excellent beds. The master bedroom was very hot but then it was a hot week. The power company shut the power off during the day for 6 hours without notice on one occasion. That was awkward because the cold water taps need power to run. Helpful Jim (Gardiner) said they usually send postal warnings for scheduled power cuts but he only has access to the post once a week on changeoverday”

“This house is amazing, large downstairs rooms with a spacious conservatory. A very well equipped kitchen. A fabulous garden with spectacular views, and easy access to the costal path. The access lanes are narrow, and did involving backing up quite a lot but the shopping delivery van managed (the cleaning team accepted the shopping and packed it all away which was a great help).We were only 6 people so had several spare bedrooms but can easily accommodate 15 if some are children.”

“I stayed at The Old Vicarage for a week with friends and I can wholeheartedly recommend it as a perfect place to relaxed and enjoy Cornwall. The house itself is grand and the pictures perhaps don't do it justice. It is large and comfortably accommodated a group of 13 adults. We found it very clean and well maintained. The kitchen is an easy place to cook with its large hob and double oven, the fact it has two dishwashers was also very handy. The bathrooms have excellent showers. The bedrooms range in size, but aside from the two single rooms are comfortable for two people. The master is a particularly amazing room.The main draw of the house is the beautiful garden, which we spent a lot of time in. It is very well kept and a lovely place to pass the time. It is a nice touch that there are games like badminton and croquet left at the property to use, as well as comfortable deck chairs and a modern bbq. Another great asset of the house is the proximity to the coast, it is literally a 2 minute walk and the views from it are amazing. Great for coastal walks and getting to the beach which is a further 5 or so minutes away. The drawback to this is that the property is a bit difficult to get to, small country lanes leading up to the house and no easily accessible shops. But this is a natural compromise for the seclusion and peace the location affords. Lastly the owners were friendly and easy to communicate with. All in all a great place to stay.”
