Across the road from stunning ruins of an old abbey, Courthouse offers a delightful stay in a vibrant area of Ireland. With its ravishing red doors, this property holds a lot of character and quirky style, a lovely location to spend on your romantic retreat. As you head on through the front door you will be greeted by a marvellous open-plan living space, here you can find a kitchen area perfect for all your self-catered holiday, needs, a dining area for you to enjoy your dining, and a relaxing living area fit with a woodburning stove where you can cosy up on the sofa with a glass of wine to spend quality time with your loved one. The double bedroom is a relaxing spot, fitted with traditional wooden furnishings throughout it’s a simple and stylish room offering you a peaceful night’s rest. In the summer months, the garden is a lovely place to take in the stunning settings right outside of the property, take a seat in one of the chairs and enjoy a good book while the donkey’s roam around in the field next to you; a scene with a difference, it’s the perfect setting to unwind and escape the hustle and bustle of city life. In the evenings, take a stroll into the local village and indulge in a beverage at Friars Tavern surrounded by the beauty of the historical area before heading back to get a night’s rest for your action-packed day ahead. Take a wander into the vibrant market town of Portumna, with an exquisite castle and gardens to roam, the heritage museum of the Irish Workhouse Centre, and a large selection of cafes, tea rooms and restaurants, it makes a lovely area to spend a day trip in a lively and friendly environment. For a day out with the dogs, head to the Little Brosna River Callows, a natural heritage area hosting an abundance of nature and fantastic views to take in. The bustling town of Birr also offers a fun day out for all, here you can find an array of historical landmarks including Birr Castle and The Leviathan of Parsontown, as well as a theatre and arts centre, ample opportunities to partake in watersports, and even its own equestrian centre; there’s something here for every holidaymaker. Portumna is located within the south-east area of Ireland. It is also a wonderful spot to partake in sporting activities, offering golf, kayaking and canoeing nearby, and plenty of lands to explore, it's the perfect place to spend your summer holiday with your loved ones.
